Decision Making: Art or Science
Here I am not talking about business decision making. I am taking about decision making on daily buying, Daily eating, reading a book etc.
When I buy gifts, i just enter into any shop look around and if I found something eye catching (according to the personality of the person), I just buy it. I never give second thought to that. And I never felt that the person got the gift was unhappy or unsatisfied with that gift. (It may be my perception).
I know some of my friends are very good at this type art. They chose the right gift for the right people.
When it comes to some other friends, they take a lot of time. They analyze what is the risk, what are the alternatives etc... They go round minimum 5-6 shops to find out and end up with wrong gifts most of the time. In that point I think it is an art.
But some people argue it is science. They say that they buy by analyzing all sorts of thing. And never end up of with wrong choice.
But what is your view??
